Missouri’s First Public FQHC Look-Alike: St. Louis County is now officially recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC-LAL)—the first public health department in Missouri to earn this designation. As an FQHC look-alike the county will be paid for services to Medicare and Medicaid services; be able to offer free vaccines for children with no and not enough insurance; and have access to a broad range of training opportunities and technical assistance. This milestone significantly expands the County’s ability to provide comprehensive, accessible, and affordable care to all county residents. It also brings in an estimated $6 million in additional annual revenue, helping the County to invest even more in the health and well-being of the communities. This achievement reflects the County’s ongoing commitment to equity in healthcare and ensuring that every resident has access to the services they need, close to home

Neighborhood Preservation & Safety: In the city of Bel-Nor, it is required for vacant properties to be registered. This is a standard ordinance that many communities uphold. There are numerous reasons why communities opt to require the registration of vacant properties:
Identifies owners: Registration helps local authorities identify and contact property owners when they are in violation of local codes or when the property needs to be maintained or addressed.
Maintain safety: Vacant properties can be opportunities for crime, pests, and unwanted activities. Registration of these properties alert municipalities of potential issues.
Reduces fire hazards: Unattended vacant properties can be more susceptible to fire, and registration helps authorities address this risk.
Maintains property values: Neglected vacant properties can negatively impact surrounding property values, and registration helps ensure they are maintained to prevent this decline.
