Neighborhood Preservation: Turn off the water supply to outdoor faucets, disconnect and drain hoses, and store them indoors.

Neighborhood Safety: From the Audubon Society: As the winter weather continues, consider alternatives to rock salt or synthetic ice melt. A brine solution can easily be made at home. A brine solution is a salted water and is used in the same manner as rock salt or ice melt. It is an effective way to melt ice and snow but uses a fraction of the salt, reducing the amount of harmful runoff entering waterways and impacting aquatic wildlife.
