Notice of Street Closure: Please note Clearview Drive and Racquet Drive surrounding Clearview Park will be closed on Saturday, August 29th from 3 pm -7:30 pm for the Bel-Nor Street Party.

Shakespeare Touring Company: The STL Shakespeare Festival is continuing their touring company throughout the STL region for 2026. This year’s production is Two Gentlemen of Verona. Come out and see best friends Valentine and Proteus swear loyalty to each other…until they both fall for the same woman. Suddenly loyalty, love, and good judgment all go out the window. Complete with disguises, misunderstandings, and one very scene-stealing dog, this is Shakespeare’s original rom-com about friendship, forgiveness, and the hilarious messiness of growing up. Diaper Drive: During the month of August, the friends and members of Unity Lutheran Church are collecting diapers and period supplies for the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank.

Please drop off donations at Unity (8454 Glen Echo Drive) from 9 am - 2 pm, Monday -Thursday or Sunday morning until noon.

All diaper sizes are appreciated but there is always a special need for sizes 4 and up.

Curbside Recycling: As a periodic reminder, here are some common items that can be recycled in your curbside recycling bin:

• Cardboard

• Paper

• Metal cans

• Plastic bottles and jugs

• Paperboard items, such as cereal boxes, snack boxes, and paper towel rolls

• Clean aluminum foil (please wad it into a ball before placing it in the recycling bin)

The following items should not be placed in your curbside recycling container:

• Plastic bags

• Bread bags

• Dry cleaning bags

Many grocery stores accept these plastic film items in designated recycling bins.

Other items that do not belong in curbside recycling include:

• Batteries

• Styrofoam

• Black plastic takeout containers

• Cell phones

• Electronics

These materials require specialized recycling programs and should not be placed in your curbside bin. If you are interested in finding locations where these items can be recycled properly, try St. Louis County’s recycling coach.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep recyclable materials out of the landfill and our community clean and sustainable.

Home Repair Assistance: Needing home repair, but looking for financial assistance? You may qualify for these programs:

• Beyond Housing offers $15,000 in repair grants to qualified home owners for essential home repairs. For more information, see Beyond Housing’s website.

• St. Louis County also offers technical and financial assistance to qualified homeowners for a variety of home repairs. For more information, see STL County’s website.

Report a Street Light Outage: If you see a street light out in Bel-Nor or anywhere in the Ameren coverage area, you can report the outage to Ameren. Call: 1-800-552-7583 or 314-342-1000 or email at servicerequests@ameren.com.

Have the following details ready for the report: 1. Street address of nearest house or cross street. 2. Identification number on utility pole, and 3. description of the problem (completely dark, flickering, running during the day).

Residents can always email cityclerk@cityofbelnor.org with the same details and we will also contact Ameren.

Neighborhood Preservation: Take away the opportunity of crime.

• Lock your car and never leave valuables in sight.

• Trim your bushes and trees to eliminate hiding spots and that block a clear view to the front door.

• Strategically, place lights around your house. Dusk-to-dawn lights, solar-powered lights, or motions lights are common options. When installing lights, consider the birds and avoid upward-directed lights and light pollution.

• Periodically, check all windows and doors to make sure they are locked.

• For emergency responders and new guests, make sure your address is visible from the street, even at night. Solar-powered address lights can work under the Bel-Nor tree canopy.

Neighborhood Safety: It’s back to school time:

• Please be aware of students walking to and from school

• Always stop for school busses loading and unloading

• Be careful with more new drivers on the road getting to and from school

• Obey speed limits
