Santa is coming to the Gazebo (Arlmont and Normandy Drive) on Sunday, December 7th at 4pm. Bring your friends, pets, & kiddos for photos with Santa. It will be a festive time with carols and hot chocolate.
Holiday Decorating Contest: Deck your halls, Bel-Nor is hosting a Holiday House Decorating Contest. If you would like to show off your expertise in exterior holiday decoration, email mayor@cityofbelnor.org by December 8th. Voting will open Monday, December 15th and close Sunday, December 21st.

Public Safety Grant: The City of Bel-Nor is offering a $50 grant for a doorbell camera or a motion-detection light installed at any residence.
How do I qualify? Purchase a doorbell camera or motion-detection light and install it. Fill out the application on the website and send it to cityclerk@cityofbelnor.org with a copy of the receipt and the required photos (listed on the application). Once the application is processed and the check is cut, the city clerk will email you to pick up your check.
BOA Recap: The following items were on the monthly agenda for November:
First reading: An ordinance to authorize a service and maintenance contract through Murphy Company for new boiler. This contract is under final review and will be on the December agenda.
Approved: An ordinance for the purchase of 2 new computers for city clerks.
First reading: An ordinance to contract with Rite-A-Way Tree Service for removal of 20 trees and 5 trims of city trees. This contract is under final review and will be on the December agenda.
Approved: An ordinance to sell the vacant lot owned by the City of Bel-Nor at 2964 Andover.
First reading: An ordinance to approve the lease of the restaurant space owned by the City of Bel-Nor at 8418 Natural Bridge Road. This contract is under final review and will be on the December agenda.
April Elections: If you are interested in running for an elected position in the City of Bel-Nor, the first day of filing opens on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 8 am. Filing will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A declaration of candidacy must be filed at the St. Louis County Board of Elections, 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, 63074. Candidates must be a qualified voter in the City of Bel-Nor, a resident of Bel-Nor for at least one year prior to election, and be current on all state and city taxes.
Neighborhood Preservation: If a tree is removed, the stump is also required to grinded or removed. A stump in the yard can be a tripping hazard, especially if it is hidden by grass or foliage. They can also damage lawnmowers or other yard equipment. Decaying stumps are a breeding ground for termites and other bugs. For the safety of you, your family, your expensive lawn equipment, and potential termite infestation in your home, it is required to grind or remove your stump when a tree is removed.

Check batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms
Check the expiration dates on your fire extinguishers, better yet, get a fire blanket, they don’t have expiration dates.
Clean your chimney
Consider using flameless candles
Don’t use extension cords with space heaters
Be careful not to overload plugs
Always make sure your extension cord is sized properly for its intended use
