Early Voting: No excuse early voting for St. Louis County opened July 22nd. Election day is August 5th.

July 31: Please join Great Rivers Greenway on Thursday, July 31 from 5:30-7:30 pm to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the regional network of greenways with a free snow cone on the greenways.

Roof Permits: If you are planning to install new roof on your house (or undertaking any construction work ), please remember that Bel-Nor requires a roof permit. This permit also requires 2 inspections during and after completion. Please plan accordingly. Permits can be filled out at City Hall.

Zoning Sirens: St. Louis County announced some major changes to how its outdoor siren system operates. Instead of sirens sounding countywide for every tornado or destructive thunderstorm warning, the county will be split into three zones: north, south, and central—with Manchester and Page as the boundaries. The sirens will only sound in affected zone(s). In addition, the system trigger will now be automated, rather than waiting for a human finger to find a button and push it. 

Preserving our tree canopy: The pin oaks in the area are nearing the end of their life cycle. If you have a pin oak located in your easement, we strongly encourage you to sign-up for a tree planting opportunity before the tree canopy diminishes. This will allow the new tree ample time to grow before the pin oaks have to be taken down.

The Tree Board has an interactive online street tree request form. It is user-friendly and features images and descriptions of all available species. While we will be planting trees throughout Bel-Nor, our priority areas for planting include the following under-planted streets: Florentine, Chadwick, Brocton, Bellerive, Delavan, and Andover. If you reside on any of these streets or know friends and family in the area, please sign up or help us spread the word!

Beyond the Backpack: On August 9th from 10am-2 pm at Lucas Crossing School Campus, 7855 Natural Bridge Road. Join Beyond Housing and community partners for a fun, free back to school event. They will have everything you need for the new school year in one place, plus some extra fun activities to close out the summer.

St. Louis MetroMarket is a mobile market that travels to area with limited access to fresh and health food, including produce, meat, and dry goods. The market will be available every Tuesday through November 11th from 10am-12pm at 6840 Page Ave. 63133. Snap/EBT welcomed.

Neighborhood Preservation: Friendly reminder if you have new tree on your property that is less than three years old, be sure to to water it. The recommendation is 5 gallons every week.

Neighborhood Safety: Be safe in the heat. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water. Take it easy in these hot months, including kids, the elderly, and don’t forget your pets!

Meetings & Reminders

July 31: Great Rivers Greenway Sunsets & Snowcones from 5:30-7:30 pm at St. Vincent Park.

August 5: St. Louis County election day. Polls will be open from 6am-7pm. Registered voters may vote at any St. Louis County voting site with valid ID.

August 18: The Bel-Nor Board of Alderman will have their monthly meeting on Monday, August 18th at 7:30 pm at City Hall. The agenda will be posted on the website and at City Hall.
