Tree Board Vacancy: Do you love trees as much as us? Do you want to get more involved in the community? The Tree Board has a vacancy and if you are “rooting” for the city, this may be the place for you. The Tree Board guides our annual trims and tree removals, coordinates tree plantings, and strategically works with residents and community members to keep our city leafy and green.

Ideal candidates should have some knowledge or training in the field of tree planting, pruning and maintenance, or an interest in conservation and species native to Missouri.

The Tree Board is currently accepting applications now through June 2nd. Click the link to apply: https://forms.gle/dYgA134AUkaHuw6b8

Neighborhood Preservation:  Keep your house cool without overworking your AC.

  • Make sure ceiling fans are running counter-clockwise

  • Keep drapes closed during the day, especially on the south and west side of your house

  • Avoid using your oven: grill outside or plan cold meals

  • Change your AC filter

  • Plant shade trees on the south and west side of your house

Neighborhood Safety: A credit freeze (or security freeze) restricts access to your credit report, preventing new accounts from being opened in your name, making it a key tool against identity theft. It is free, does not impact credit scores, and lasts until you remove it. You must contact all three major bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—individually to freeze your credit. You can place a freeze online, by phone, or by mail with each bureau. Online is fastest.
