Tree News

Last October the City was awarded our third T.R.I.M. grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation.Over the years these matching grants have contributed $30,000 to assist Bel-Nor in the maintenance and preservation of our precious urban forest. This was achieved with the invaluable assistance of our community forester, Doug Seely from Beyond Housing, and the volunteer efforts of our City Tree Board members Alderman Joe Riebold and residents Denny Blase and Dan Riley.

Last November work on our 2019 plan began with tree removals and trimming throughout the City by Gamma Tree Experts. We also planted ten new trees to continue replacing those that have been lost to disease or old age. More planting is in the works for 2020. We also hosted a successful educational event for 7th and 8th graders at St. Ann School on Natural Bridge to help teach them about the importance of healthy trees in the community.

Please click on the links below for more information about our trees and the value they bring to our beautiful City! And plan to participate in this year's Arbor Day event sponsored by Beyond Housing. Time and place will be announced soon!
